An action-packed two weeks with mind-broadening lectures, seminars and private teaching every day

We are proud to offer more contact hours with tutors than any other Oxford-based summer school. Alongside two hours of contact time with your tutor in small groups per week, we also offer an hour of one-on-one tutor contact per week, as well as a series of 'minor subject' lectures. Added to this is our 'Leadership series' of lectures and workshops, equipping you with the tools you need to go out and shape the future of the world around you.

We are enormously proud of our academic tutors, who are carefully selected. This gives you unprecedented access to experts in your field, and an opportunity to learn directly from them in a one-on-one academic setting.

Beyond your contact with your tutor, your academic experience in Oxford will be deepened on the course by discussing and debating with your classmates in seminars, broadening your experience of other subjects through the 'minor subject' system, and developing your own skills in confidence and public speaking as part of the Leadership lectures.

One-on-one tutor contact is the bedrock of the Oxbridge Future Leaders course; it provides extensive and committed contact with your tutor on a particular subject, for which you will be expected to prepare an essay or problem sheet (of course provided to you in advance. You will be required to present your prepared work, about which your tutor will ask you further questions, probing into your conclusions to deepen your understanding of the topic.

These sessions are relaxed and informal ways for you to debate issues, extend your knowledge, and ask questions. You will get to know your tutors well as part of the course, which means that you will reap the rewards of their undivided attention.

Our tutors are all experienced in leading these classes, and are keen to test your knowledge and stretch your understanding - all you need to do is arrive with an open mind.

Seminars are opportunities to debate your ideas with other people, and will be themed around a particular question or issue. There may be preparatory reading for these classes, but there usually will not be submitted work required.

Your tutor will lead discussions in seminars, but there is plenty of scope to discuss and problematise issues with your classmates, as well as learn from your tutor's expertise. Seminars will also hone your ability to construct and defend arguments against your classmates' scrutiny.

It is impossible to understand the world through the lens of only one subject; our series of 'minor subject' seminars will empower you to understand the diverse and multifaceted problems facing the world around you. Your minor subject tuition will be delivered in the form of two seminars. There may be a small amount of preparatory reading required for your minor subject.

Our aim is that the minor subject lecture series allows students to leave OFL as more rounded individuals, having deepened their awareness of the modern world.

Our Leadership Lectures aim to equip you with the tools to succeed in whatever you choose to do in life. As part of these interactive workshops, you will learn to build your confidence, public speaking skills, and hear the experiences of experts in leadership.
